These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and [Lumina — Legal Entity Name] ("Lumina," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Lumina mobile application and related services (together, the "Service"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating a profile, pairing a device, or otherwise using Lumina, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference.
2. The Service
Lumina is a faith-based screen-time app for families. It helps a parent or guardian set up a routine in which selected apps on a child's device remain paused until the child completes a short guided prayer, using Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks. Lumina also provides guided prayers, progress tracking, rewards, and illustrated Bible stories. The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial family use only.
3. Eligibility and parental responsibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to purchase a subscription or agree to these Terms. Lumina is designed to be set up and managed by a parent or legal guardian on behalf of a child. If you set up Lumina for a child, you represent that you are that child's parent or legal guardian and that you consent to the child's use of the Service and to the collection of information as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for supervising your child's use of the Service and their device.
4. License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Service on Apple devices that you own or control, for your family's personal use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
5. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
Lumina offers premium access through the following options, made available as in-app purchases through the Apple App Store:
- Annual Plan — an auto-renewable subscription billed once per year.
- Monthly Plan — an auto-renewable subscription billed once per month.
- Lifetime Access — a single, one-time purchase (not a subscription).
The exact price of each option, the length of the subscription period, and any introductory or free-trial terms are shown to you in the app on the purchase screen before you confirm a purchase. Prices may vary by country and are subject to change; any change will be shown to you before it takes effect.
Auto-renewal
Auto-renewable subscriptions automatically renew for the same period at the then-current price unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Free trials
If a free trial is offered and you begin one, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the trial will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the price shown in the app.
Managing and canceling
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then.
Payment and refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. We do not process or store your payment card details. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's policies; we generally cannot grant refunds directly. To request a refund, contact Apple Support.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to interfere with its normal operation, circumvent its safety or screen-time features, access it using automated means, upload unlawful or harmful content, or use it in any way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, text, prayers, illustrations, angel characters, Bible story artwork, logos, and design, is owned by Lumina or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited license granted above, no rights are transferred to you.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on Apple frameworks (including Screen Time and Family Controls) and on third-party providers for infrastructure, purchases, and analytics, as described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of Apple's services is governed by Apple's terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its screen-time controls cannot be bypassed. Lumina is a supportive tool and is not a substitute for parental supervision.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumina and its owners, employees, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 9, 10, and 13) will survive.
12. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your Governing Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in [Your Jurisdiction], except where prohibited by applicable law.
